VP Sara’s First 100 days: P134M worth of medical, burial aid processed

MANDALUYONG CITY – The Office of Vice President Sara Duterte has already processed a total of P134,376,764.95 in the medical and burial assistance program since she assumed office on July 1.

A total of P124,579,964.95 and P9,796,800 have already been processed for medical aid and burial assistance, respectively, with a total of 13,315 recipients served in all seven Office of the Vice President (OVP) satellite offices and OVP main office as of October 5.

The seven satellite offices were established across the country to make sure that services offered by the OVP will not only be concentrated in the National Capital Region but will also reach other areas in Luzon, Mindanao and the Visayas.

The OVP medical and burial assistance for indigent Filipinos program has already arranged partnership with the Department of Health (DOH) for the Medical Assistance to Indigent Patients Program (MAIPP) which covers at least 31 public hospitals all over the country.

The office also arranged partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the release of Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS).

For the OVP medical services, a maximum of P20,000 in amount through guarantee letter and medicines in kind are provided for each beneficiary, while burial assistance is given through petty cash.
