MANDALUYONG CITY – On her first 100 days since assuming office, Vice President Sara Duterte has already distributed a total of 3,220 “PagbaBAGo” containing school supplies and hygiene kits.
The campaign has already benefitted 3,220 students from six remote areas in the country — Limasawa Island in Southern Leyte, Jordan town in Island Province of Guimaras, Caramoan in Camarines Sur, Kidapawan City in North Cotabato, Siguijor Province, Dasmariñas in Cavite, and Bangued in Abra.
The Vice President’s ‘PagbaBAGo’ campaign is a program which aims to instil the importance of basic education and nurture the right attitude among young Filipinos to succeed in life.
The ‘PagbaBAGo’ campaign was Duterte’s program when she was still mayor of Davao City. This became part of the Vice President’s activities during her visits in cities and towns across the country.
Aside from distributing the bags, Duterte also talks to the children’s parents, convincing them to practice responsible parenthood and family planning.
The Vice President, who is also the Secretary of Education, has repeatedly reminded parents that their children will have better chances in life when they get good jobs after finishing proper education.
