NAVOTAS CITY — Over 600 fisherfolk and residents of Barangay Tangos North here on Saturday received ‘Pasasalamat’ gifts from Vice President Sara Duterte.
Duterte led the distribution of the gifts containing food packs, face masks, alcohol and school supplies to express her gratitude for the Navoteños’ all-out support to her during the May elections.
The gifts, according to Duterte, were donated to her by a friend whose mother was celebrating her birthday.
This is the second time Duterte visited the area since her campaign sortie here in March 4.
Navotas Representative Toby Tiangco thanked Sara Duterte for considering Navotas as one of the areas for her “Pasasalamat” event.
“Tayo po ay nagpapasalamat kay VP Inday Sara sa pagpunta niya dito at magbigay ng school supplies and pagkain para sa mga Navoteño,” Tiangco said.
Tiangco said it was the sole initiative of the Vice President to come back and visit the residents of the area.
Duterte also delivered a message to the children, pertaining to her program PagbaBAGo campaign, reminding them to study hard for them to achieve their aspirations in life.
The event was also attended by Valenzuela 1st District Representative Rex Gatchalian, Navotas Vice Mayor Nito Sanchez, and some Navotas City Councilors.
