VP Sara: OVP programs will be across the country

MANDALUYONG CITY — Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday said the programs offered by her office will be available to Filipinos not only in the National Capital Region, but throughout the country.

“Marami pong mga programa at proyekto na ipapatupad ang Office of the Vice President sa susunod na anim na taon. Ipapatupad natin ang mga programang ito hindi lamang sa NCR, kundi pati na rin sa Visayas at sa Mindanao,” Duterte said during the blessing and ribbon-cutting ceremony of the Office of the Vice President here.

“Sa loob ng mga susunod na buwan ay maaasahan natin ang pagpapalawak ng mga kasalukuyang programa ng Office of the Vice President, at ang pagsisimula ng mga bagong programa na naglalayong makapagbigay ng tulong sa mas marami pa nating mga kababayan sa iba’t ibang panig ng bansa na nangangailangan nito — lalo na at sinisimulan na natin ang mga agresibong hakbang para makabawi tayo sa epekto ng COVID-19 pandemic,” she added.

The OVP programs include Medical and Burial Assistance, pagbaBAGo Campaign, Libreng Sakay, and Peace 911. The MagNegosyo 'Ta Day peace and livelihood projects will be made available next year.

Duterte lauded the OVP employees for making sure the success of public service to the people.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako sa lahat ng mga kawani ng Office of the Vice President — kayong lahat na naririto ngayon — na buong-puso, buong-katapangan, at buong-katapatan na nagsisilbi sa publiko,” Duterte said.

“Personal akong nagbibigay pugay sa inyo para sa inyong mga sakripisyo at buong-pusong paglilingkod sa bayan bilang mga empleyado ng ating opisina,” she added.

She also acknowledged the employees from the seven OVP satellite offices in Dagupan, Cebu, Tacloban, Zamboanga, Davao, Surigao del Sur, and Bacolod.

She said the establishment of these offices aims for more effective, more economical, and faster communication between the office and more Filipinos, sectors, companies, and organizations throughout the country.

The Vice President also said the establishment of the new OVP Central Office is aimed at making work faster and efficient now that employees are under a one roof.

“Ginawa natin ito dahil nais nating maging mas epektibo, mas matipid, at mas mabilis at ating trabaho dito sa Central Office,” Duterte said.

Duterte led the ribbon-cutting and tossing of coins tradition in the office. She also conducted a photo opportunity together with all the employees in the office.

The new Office of the Vice President is located at 11F, Robinsons Cybergate Plaza, EDSA corner Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.
