VP Sara keeps promise to revisit sectors post-election

As she had promised, Vice President Sara Duterte returned to some campaign venues to personally thank various sectors and bring Pamasko packages.

Chareto Nuñez, a 65-year old housewife who was present when Duterte campaigned for her vice presidential bid earlier this year, expressed her admiration as the latter came back to Happyland in Tondo, Manila today.

“Masaya kami dahil nakita namin siya. Nangako sya noong nagpunta sya sa amin na hindi pa nag-e-eleksyon na babalik siya. Eto na, tinupad na,” Nuñez said

She was also among the 800 members of the urban poor community in the area who were given with Christmas package containing 10-kilogram rice and canned goods.

Duterte was also able to reunite with members of the Batasan Hills Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (BARTODA) and online booking app riders in Batasan Hills, and the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in Barangay Escopa 3, Quezon City.

BARTODA Vice President Roberto Mirafuentes thanked Duterte for the 1,400 Christmas packs for their association.

“Nagpapasalamat po kami sa pamaskong handog na bigay ng ating Vice President para sa BARTODA. Nagpapasalamat ang buong BARTODA,” he expressed.

A rider, who volunteered to thank the Vice President, expressed that the Duterte did not forget them.

“Hindi nyo kami nakalimutan. Iba po talaga kayo, Ma’am. Maraming, maraming salamat po. In behalf po ng Angkas, maraming salamat po sa suporta ninyo po,” the rider said.

Some 600 riders who convened along the IBP road in Batasan Hills to witness the Vice President’s visit were also given the same food package.

Duterte concluded her ‘Balik-Pasasalamat’ with a visit to the PWDs at the National Vocational Rehabilitation Center in Barangay Escopa 3.

Nazarena Casuga, a 51-year old PWD, said the Pamasko package is a big help for them to celebrate the holiday.

“Nagpapasalamat po ako na nabigyan kami ng pamasko. May panghanda po kami at saka bigas po. Malaking tulong po,” she said.

Duterte said she returned to meet the members of the different sectors to personally thank them.

“Nandito po kami para magpasalamat. Unang-una po ang pagpapasalamat ko sa inyong lahat sa tulong ninyo sa akin noong kampanya at eleksyon noong May 2022,” she said.

The Vice President also included President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos’ thanksgiving message for the support to his administration, and her personal message of gratitude from the Duterte family for the opportunities given by the Filipino people.

She also shared her Christmas message to the sectors, saying Christmas is a time for love, forgiveness, and sharing.

“Kahit simple lang ang ating preparasyon, ang importante sa Pasko ay masaya ang ating mga mahal sa buhay,” she said.

“Ang daan po papunta sa kapayapaan ay nagsisimula sa pagmamahal, pagpapatawad, at pagbibigay,” the Vice President said.
