VP Sara delivers ‘PagbaBAGo’ to Antique

CALUYA, Antique — Vice President and Education Sectary Sara Duterte on Monday led the distribution of school supplies and dental kits to students in different barangays here.

Duterte, who visited the province to celebrate the Municipality of Libertad’s 23rd Banigan Festival Opening Program, visited several public schools to distribute PagbaBago bags containing school supplies and dental kits.

Over 1,000 PagbaBAGo bags were distributed to Grade 1 and Grade 4 students from seven different schools in the Barangays Alegria, Bunlao, Lim, Sabang, Semirara, Tinogboc and Villarises.

Duterte stressed on the learners the significance of education in ending the cycle of poverty.

The Vice President also held dialogues with teachers, listening to their concerns about the education sector.

The PagbaBAGo campaign is a program which aims to instil the importance of basic education and nurture the right attitude among young Filipinos to succeed in life. It was Duterte’s program when she was still mayor of Davao City. It has become part of the Vice President’s activities during her visits in cities and towns across the country.

Aside from distributing the bags, Duterte also talks to the children’s parents, convincing them to practice responsible parenthood and family planning.
