Vice President Leni Robredo will be leaving tomorrow (May 10) for Tokyo, Japan on a two-day visit to speak at the Global Summit of Women. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Vietnamese Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, Vice President of Vietnam will attend the opening ceremony, along with women representatives from all over the world.
The theme of the Global Summit of Women is “Beyond Womenomics: Accelerating Access,” to showcase various initiatives in different parts of the world to discuss women’s access to corporate leadership roles as well as strategies for supporting women-owned enterprises worldwide.
Prior to the opening ceremony, Global Summit of Women President Irene Natividad will hold a press briefing to discuss the events of the summit. VP Leni will give a brief background on the topic of her speech. Vietnamese VP Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, and Ms. Noriko Nakamura, Chair of the Japan Host Committee of the Global Summit on Women will join her and Ms. Natividad.
She will also have courtesy calls with the Japan-Philippines Parliamentarians Friendship League (JPPFL), as well as with Representative Katsuyuki Kawai, Special Advisor of PM Shinzo Abe.
