Vietnamese Ambassador Hoang Huy Chung calls on Vice President Sara Z. Duterte to Reassure Vietnam’s Support to the Philippines

PASIG CITY, 17 August 2022 – Vietnamese Ambassador Hoang Huy Chung called on Vice President Sara Z. Duterte at the Department of Education (DepEd) Central Office in Pasig City. In his remarks, the Ambassador congratulated the Vice President on her election on behalf of the people of Vietnam and expressed his support to the Vice President.

Ambassador Hoang recalled the courtesy call of Her Excellency Madam Võ ThịÁnh Xuân, Vice President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to then Vice President-Elect Duterteon 29 June 2022 in Pasay City.The Ambassador handed over the letter of the Vietnamese Vice President and relayed her regards as well to Vice President Duterte.

Vice President Duterte recalled her invitation for the Vietnamese Vice President to visit Davao. The Ambassador confirmed the Vietnamese Vice President’s interest to visit the Philippines again. During the call, Ambassador Hoang and Vice President Duterte discussed the education relations between the Philippines and Vietnam. The Ambassador recognized the contributions of Filipino English teachers in Vietnamin both primary schools and universities. The Ambassador also recognized the efforts of the country to conduct face-to-face classes this year. The Ambassador recalled his commitment to former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte to support the Philippines in the supply of rice. He also expressed his interest to visit Davao and meet with former President Duterte. In view of the Strategic Partnership between the Philippines and Vietnam, Ambassador Hoang reassured the Vice President that Vietnam stands ready to support the Philippines.
