Vice President Leni Robredo on Monday, March 16, 2020, inspected the first batch of personal protective equipment (PPEs) her office will be distributing to health workers serving as frontliners against COVID-19. Through the help of Transportify and Ninjavan, the PPE sets will be delivered to hospitals and communities around Metro Manila, with priority to those attending to COVID-19 patients, patients under investigation (PUIs), and patients under monitoring (PUMs).
VP Leni's office has allotted P5.995 million of its funds to help provide PPE sets for 1,000 frontliners for 15 days. A donation drive was also started by its Angat Buhay partner, Kaya Natin! Movement, which has so far raised P8.9 million, funds that will be used to provide PPE kits for 2,073 frontliners for 15 days, as well as 5,659 food and care packages for them and their families.
