Duterte received the Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to the Philippines, Her Excellency Laure Beaufils, in a courtesy call today at the Office of the Vice President (OVP) Central Office in Mandaluyong City.
The UK Ambassador and the Vice President mainly discussed basic education and the challenges in the education sector of the country, including the recovery plan of the Philippines from the COVID-19 pandemic and the creation of the Child Protection Unit in public schools. Ambassador Beaufils also offered assistance in the improvement of research development and exchange of know-how in education technology or “Ed Tech.”

She also informed the Ambassador of the strategic priorities and the ongoing projects supporting the four (4) pillars of the Department of Education: Access, Equity, Quality, and Governance.
