PBBM, VP Sara join Brigada Eskwela

MANILA — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte on Monday joined the first day of Brigada Eskwela at the V. Mapa High School in San Miguel here.

Last week, Duterte, who is also the Secretary of Education, led the Brigada Eskwela Kick-off at the Tarlac National High School, and called on the Filipinos’ Bayanihan spirit to help prepare schools for the opening of classes this month.

Brigada Eskwela is a nationwide school program that aims to prepare schools for returning learners.

It engages all education stakeholders to share their time, effort, and resources.

Duterte earlier stressed that this year, it is hoped that Brigada Eskwela will produce schools that are functional, clean, and orderly.

The President and the Vice President were joined by the teachers, parents, and students of the V. Mapa High School as they painted some armchairs. They also turned over paints and cleaning tools to the school.

The country’s top two officials also visited the school’s science laboratory and Literacy Center.

School Principal Robert Velasquez said the visit had a profound impact on both students and school personnel.

The occasion also became an opportunity for Duterte and Velasquez to discuss issues and concerns of the school and students.

Brigada Eskwela will be conducted from August 14 to 19.
