SIQUIJOR, Siquijor — Parents of a PagbaBAGo beneficiary view the advocacy campaign as "challenge for them to strive more" for their children.
Janice Micarandayo, 33 and a mother of two, said the campaign is a positive challenge for them to strive harder in order to provide for the needs of their children in school.
“Ma-challenge mi nga maningakamot para sa among mga anak aron mausab ang among panginabuhi,” she said during the PagbaBAGo distribution held in Barangay. Pangi this town on Sunday.
Micarandayo, who has two schoolchildren, was among hundreds of parents who were oriented by Vice President Sara Duterte on the direction of the campaign. She said this project is beneficial to parents alike to be motivated and encourage their children to seriously put efforts on their studies.
“Nindot kaayo siya para diri sa mga Siquijodnon, dako ni siya nga tabang. [Damgo nako nga] makahuman gyud sila og eskwela para dili siya mapareha namo,” Micarandayo said
Janice is a store attendant. Her husband is a baker.
She said she agreed with the Vice President's message to properly plan their family so they can support their children’s education and uplift their living conditions.
“Mas maayo [ang family planning] para mas ma-control ang pag-bata (pregnancy), dili magdaghan, makapahuman ta ug eskwela puhon aron ma-iwas sa kalisud,” Micarandayo said.
A total of 400 schoolchildren where given bags with school supplies and dental kits while 1,000 parents received food packs from the OVP to augment their daily grocery needs.
PagbaBAGo, the advocacy campaign led by the Vice President, started on August 10. This town is already the fifth locality that benefitted from the program.
