OVP opens 10th satellite in Region V

LEGAZPI CITY, Albay — The Office of the Vice President (OVP) can now serve indigent Filipinos in Region V as it opened its 10th satellite office here Wednesday.

The Region V satellite office is located at the ANST III Building on Alternate Road here.

The Region V satellite office can now cascade services and programs from the central office down to the grassroots. One of the highly-requested social services that the OVP offers is the Medical and Burial (MAB) assistance program which gives financial support to indigent Filipinos in need of medical attention or the burial of a family member.

From July 2022 to July 13 this year, the MAB program has already served 94,519 beneficiaries and processed the amount of P 861,659,631.06.

In her speech, Vice President Sara Duterte said the establishment of satellite offices across the country would give Filipinos access to the office’s projects implemented in the central office like the Magnegosyo Ta ‘Day livelihood project for women and LGBTQIA+ sectors, the peacebuilding efforts called Peace 911, the PagbaBAGo advocacy campaign for children’s education which also aims to plant one million trees by the end of her term, and the Pansarap anti-malnutrition campaign.

Architect Jeizel Cone Asia, an active youth leader in Region V, heads the Satellite Office in Legazpi.

“Kinausap namin si architect Jeizel, na kung pwedeng ituloy-tuloy namin ang samahan ng pagtatrabaho para sa ating komunidad,” the Vice President said.

The nine other OVP satellite offices are in the cities of Davao, Zamboanga, Cotabato, Surigao, Cebu, Bacolod, Tacloban, Isabela, and Dagupan.
