OVP gives aid to 5k Baguio City fire victims

MANDALUYONG CITY — The Office of the Vice President, through its Disaster Operations Center and Dagupan Satellite Office, on Wednesday provided relief assistance to over 1,415 families or 5,340 individuals affected by the fire that hit the public market in Kayang-Hilltop, Baguio City last March 11.

A total of 1,500 Relief for Individuals in Crisis and Emergencies (RICE) food boxes were given to the victims from 151 various barangays.

The Baguio City Social Welfare and Development Office also helped in the distribution.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the fire, which destroyed an estimated P24-Million worth of properties.
