MANDALUYONG CITY — The Office of the Vice President, through the Disaster Operations Center, sent relief assistance to fire victims in Barangay Tatalon in Quezon City and Barangay Kasanyangan in Zamboanga City.
A total of 500 families or 1,318 individuals who were displaced by the fire in Quezon City on February 18 received the assistance from the OVP-DOC on Monday.
In Zamboanga City, over 409 families or 1,740 individuals who were left homeless by the February 20 fire incident received relief packs from the OVP-DOC through the OVP Zamboanga Satellite Office, Zamboanga City Social Welfare and Development Office, and the Zamboanga City Task Force on Tuesday.
According to the latest report from the OVP-DOC, two people were killed while a total of 256 houses were razed by the fire in Zamboanga City.
Local authorities in the affected areas are still conducting investigation on the cause of the conflagration.
