The Office of the Vice President-Disaster Operations Center (OVP-DOC) has continuously been conducting relief operations in Typhoon Paeng-hit areas throughout the country.
The most recent OVP-DOC- initiated relief mission was conducted yesterday, November 22, which covered five towns in the provinces of Davao Occidental and Davao del Sur.
The municipalities of Sta. Maria and Malita in Davao Occidental, and Malalag, Sulop, and Kiblawan in Davao del Sur, were each given 50 sacks of rice.
The distribution in the two provinces was led by OVP Satellite Office in Davao City.
Among all the relief operations, the November 4 and 9 missions were considered the largest ever conducted for the victims of Typhoon Paeng.
The November 4 relief operation delivered 650 sacks of rice that were simultaneously distributed in Bacoor City in Cavite, Maguindanao del Norte, Maguindanao del Sur, municipalities of Hilongos and Bato in Southern Leyte, Zamboanga City, and the Province of Antique.
Additional assistance like 1,546 pieces of assorted canned goods, three tons of used clothes, 200 pieces of turbans, 200 pieces of sleeping mats, 300 pieces of ready-to-wear clothes, and 35 boxes of 500ml mineral waters were also provided to 500 families in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao Del Norte.
Last November 9, a total of 600 sacks of rice were distributed in the Cagayan Province towns of Sta. Praxedes, Claveria, Sanchez Mira, Pamplona, Abulug, Ballesteros, Allacapan, Lasam, and Sto. Niño.
On that same day, the OVP-DOC distributed 250 sacks of rice in Paete, Sta. Rosa, and Binan — all in Laguna.
On November 24, another batch of relief aid or 50 sacks of rice for 250 families will be delivered in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
