Following series of relief missions to the victims of Typhoon Paeng across the country, the Office of the Vice President-Disaster Operations Center (OVP-DOC) has initiated another operation. This time, to fire survivors in Mandaue City, Cebu.
The OVP-DOC on Nov. 25 turned over 150 sacks of rice to the local government of Mandaue. The aid will be distributed to 750 families or 2,700 individuals who were affected by the Nov. 23 fire in Look, Sitio Paradise.
Mayor Jonas Cortes, who received the assistance, thanked Vice President Sara Duterte for the “unexpected prompt relief efforts.”
The Mandaue relief mission was carried out in coordination with the OVP-Cebu Satellite Office, Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Air Force, Department of Public Works and Highways, Traffic Management (TEAM), Alliance of Integrated Response (AIR 7 Phils.), and Federation of Volunteers through Radio Communication (FDRC).
