The Office of the Vice President-Disaster Operations Center (OVP-DOC), through the Davao City Satellite Office, on Thursday returned to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to again deliver relief assistance for the victims of Typhoon Paeng.
BARMM Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) and Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READi) Head Atty. Naguib Sinarimbo received the 50 sacks of rice from the OVP-DOC.
Sinarimbo, in the Bangsamoro Government Facebook page, said the relief efforts of the OVP complement the BARMM’s early recovery plan.
"The Office of the Vice-President has already delivered initial supplies and aid assistance and they also wanted to know the Bangsamoro's early recovery plan upang masundan at mag-match ang kanilang mga programs in connection to our early recovery plan," Sinarimbo said.
On November 4, the OVP-DOC conducted simultaneous relief missions to identified local government units in the country, including BARMM — one of the heavily-affected areas in Mindanao.
The OVP-DOC was also able to provide additional assistance to 500 families in Datu Odin Sinsuat in Maguindanao del Norte. The relief aid included 1,546 pieces of assorted canned goods, three tons of used clothes, 200 pieces turbans, 200 pieces sleeping mats, 300 pieces ready-to-wear clothes, and 35 boxes of 500ml mineral waters.
