OVP: 5,000 Bacolod residents get medical, burial aid

BACOLOD CITY – The Office of the Vice President has intensified its information campaign regarding the services that it is offering to the public.

Lawyer Reynold Munsayac, spokesperson of OVP, and a team from OVP Central Office visited the Satellite Office of OVP here on March 30 to 31.

The highlight of the visit was the OVP’s medical or hospitalization assistance and burial assistance.

These OVP services were expanded with the assumption into office of Vice President Sara Duterte and following the establishment of the seven satellite offices in the cities of Davao, Zamboanga, Cebu, Tandag in Surigao del Sur, Tacloban, Dagupan, and Bacolod.

Last March 8-10, the OVP Central Office team also visited the Davao City Satellite Office.

In the Bacolod Satellite Office alone, a total of P31,989,207.08 have been utilized for medical aid to over 4,000 beneficiaries, while P9,915,000 have been disbursed for burial assistance to 1,956 clients from August 2, 2022 to March 26, 2023.

Munsayac said the medical assistance and burial assistance were undertakings made with the objective of “bringing government services closer to the people.”

Aside from the MAB, Munsayac also highlighted the other services of the OVP. These include the Libreng Sakay which plies Bacolod routes, and the Magnegosyo Ta ‘Day – an entrepreneurship project to capacitate women and members of the LGBTQI+ community in business management and operations of their desired economic venture.

Patients and clients who seek help from the services offered by the office may visit Mosser Bldg, Lacson St., Extension, Goldenfield Commercial Complex, Bacolod City.
