New Zealand Ambassador Peter Kell Calls on Vice President Sara Z. Duterte to Discuss Cooperation on Education and Ease of Doing Business

MANDALUYONG CITY, 21 September 2022 – New Zealand Ambassador Peter Kell called on Vice President Sara Z. Duterte at the Office of the Vice President (OVP) Central Office in Mandaluyong City.

Ambassador Kell discussed their various projects in the country in the more than 50 years of partnership between the Philippines and New Zealand. This includes projects for theMindanao peace process and BARMM, with focus on women, agriculture, renewable energy, training and learning, normalization efforts for former combatants, and funding for school buildings as their recent priority area.

Vice President Duterte thanked the Ambassador for their support to Mindanao. She also expressed appreciation for their support to education and highlighted that it will help address gaps in accessand classroom shortage in the country.

A member of the New Zealand delegation talked about their IP school in Bukidnon and their traditional and culturally-appropriate approach to education.
