Message at the Unveiling of “Mag-anak” Eagle Family Sculpture Agila: The Eksperience Building

    11 December 2016

Agila: The Eksperience Building, Enchanted Kingdom, Sta. Rosa, Laguna

This is such a wonderful morning for me. After a grueling week—I had a very exciting week before today and it was, I think it was godsend that the invitation was for today kaya maraming salamat na binigyan niyo kami ng pagkakataon maging masaya ngayong araw.

It is always an honor to be invited, especially by an institution like Enchanted Kingdom.

Alam po natin na ang EK is the dream of every Filipino child. Iyong bunso kong anak, si Jillian, has been here many times pero ako I have to admit the last time I was here was I think in the ‘90s pa.

Sobrang iba na iyong pinagbago. But you know I’m here with my two apos—may apo na po kami, by my niece.

Going around the park earlier this morning and enjoying everything through the eyes of our grandchildren reminds us that Enchanted Kingdom has given the Filipino people a wonderful gift.

And being here for 21 years, kailangan po namin magpasalamat sa inyo. And you have very little of government support and yet you have weathered 21 years and providing a lot of fun, a lot of enjoyment for every Filipino family.

Hindi lang Filipino child, Filipino family, kasi kanina sumakay din ako sa mga rides, happing-happy po. Hindi lang po apo ko pero ako. So thank you very much for having been here for 21 years.

I think the ride the you will be inaugurating today is a timely reminder for all of us that there is so much to love in our country. Kaya ito po, Ma’am Sylvia was briefing me about what Agila was earlier, and sabi ko, bakit ngayon lang natin ito…

Not the government has thought of putting up one such thing and we really only have Enchanted Kingdom to thank.

Kanina po bawa’t ride, sabi po ng apo ko—malakas ako ngayon sa kanya—sinasabi niya, Lola Leni I had so much fun.

Kaya lang Ma’am, ipre-pressure namin kayo this year, kasi kanina nagpre-preform ang mga bata, sabi ng apo ko, I want to join them. Kaya mag a-audition na kami next year.

Really, I won’t take long, but really this is an opportunity for us, in behalf of the Philippine Governent, in behalf of the entire Philippine population, we’d like to thank Enchanted Kingdom for all the years that they’ve given us so much joy. For being every Filipino child’s dream.
