The Manila Water Foundation pledges as one of the Angat Buhay partners of the Office of the Vice President (OVP), signing a memorandum of agreement that is aimed at helping communities around the country.
Under the Disaster Relief and Rehabilitation (DRR) arm of the Angat Buhay program, and the Agapay para sa Barangay initiative of the Foundation, this partnership commits to immediate distribution of drinking water to disaster-affected communities, as well as sharing relevant information for disaster preparedness and response.
The community in Mabini, Batangas is one of the most recent beneficiary of the partnership, as drinking water was distributed to victims of the April 2017 earthquake. Food packs, blankets and tents from other partners were also handed out through the Angat Buhay anti-poverty flagship program.
Apart from the six pillars of Angat Buhay including health, food and nutrition, education, women empowerment, rural development, and housing, OVP also prioritizes disaster management for communities around the country, and together with its partners, continue to help those in the margins.
