At 10:00 am, the Vice President attended the Angat Buhay Women’s Entrepreneurship Bootcamp (AB WEB) in Sequoia Hotel, Mother Ignacia Avenue, Quezon City. AB WEB is a follow through event of the Angat Buhay Workshop for Aspiring Women Entrepreneurs (AB WAWE) in partnership with Samahan ng mga Pilipina Para sa Reporma at Kaunlaran Inc. (SPARK! Philippines). The program sought to further build upon the skills and knowledge gained by the Women Entrepreneurs during AB WAWE, and impart new skills, such as the use of technology and online platforms for business.
At 4:00 pm, the Vice President attended the inauguration of the historic Alberto Mansion at Plaza Real, Biñan, Laguna. She led the unveiling of the site’s marker. The mansion was a witness not only to Biñan’s monumental events, but the feud within the Alonso de Alberto family—the most affluent resident of Biñan. It is believed that it was built 200 years before the 1880s. In October 2012, the mansion collapsed from its roof. Many believed that it was caused by the dismantling of the supports of the heavy tisa-tiled roof. The collapse was a call for the local government to expropriate the mansion and make it stand again. The United Artists for Cultural Conservation and Development, City of Biñan Inc., headed by Dr. Bimbo Sta. Maria and Bryan Jayson “BJ” Borja, led the fight to “Save the Historic Alberto House”. After the long and strenuous legal battle over the rights to the mansion, in 2017, it was rightfully taken over by the Biñan City government. In February 2018, the much-deserved restoration of the mansion started.
