At 8:15 am, the Vice President attended the turnover and inauguration of the Yellow School of Hope Alternative Learning System (ALS), Yellow Boat of Hope Bangkarunungan, Smart School in-a-bag, Solar Scholar, and Lock&Lock Lunchboxes. The event was headed by the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation (YBHF), which started as a national movement to help children who had to swim to school in the mangrove village of Layag-Layag, Zamboanga City. The event featured the turnover and inauguration of 2 typhoon-resilient classrooms for the Yellow School of Hope ALS, 2 Yellow Boat of Hope Bangkarununganboats, 3 Smart School-in-a-bag, 400 solar lamps, and 80 Lock&Lock lunchboxes to Sitio Lipata. Students from the sitio used to walk for 2 hours to attend classes at Gogon Elementary School. With the 2 newly-constructed typhoon resilient classrooms. 83 students will no longer need to walk far to be able to attend their classes.
