Buencamino Architecture Ground Breaking Weaving Facility in Brgy. Buahan, Lamitan City, Basilan. The Office of the Vice President (OVP) partnered with the Yakan weavers by providing support in the production of “tennun”.

The artificial tulips are made from 45,000 recycled plastic bottles that have been collected from 45 barangays across the city in exchange for school supplies and grocery items. The garden pathway is also made of shredded plastic bottles mixed with cement, sand, and gravel. This initiative was part of Mayor Rose Furigay’s intensified solid waste management campaign. The garden was formally opened on September 23, 2019.
