Vice President Sara Z. Duterte strongly condemns the shooting incident inside Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) campus Sunday afternoon.
Such an act of violence should have no place in our society, especially in a place of learning — which is supposed to be considered a safe space for everyone, for the students mainly.
The Vice President sends her prayers and deepest condolences to the victims' families.

Vice President Sara Duterte will depart from the traditional Filipiñana and honor her kababayans from the Bagobo Tagabawa tribe of Davao City.
Unfortunately, an entire ensemble would take over a month to make by tribal artisans, which will not make it on time for Monday’s SONA. VP Sara Duterte will instead borrow a Bagobo Tagabawa traditional dress from Bae Sheirelle Anino, the Deputy Mayor of the Tagabawa tribe of Davao City.

During the Cabinet meeting on July 19, 2022, one of the questions raised by Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Duterte to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr was the possibility of the institutionalization of a blended learning mode of instruction and should the Department prepare for it.
The President agreed that a plan should be made with a caveat that face-to-face classes shall be the priority and blended modality shall be considered only in specific schools and areas with special circumstances.

Even before the pandemic, it is not a strict requirement for public schools to wear uniforms (DepEd Order No. 065, s. 2010) to avoid incurring additional costs to the families of our learners. All the more that it will not be required this School Year given the increasing prices and economic losses due to the pandemic.
