    • VP Sara Duterte Public Statement on Sona Attire

Posted in VP Sara - Statements on Jul 29, 2022

I wore that traditional Bagobo Tagabawa dress to the State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr in honor of one of the tribes that form the 11 groups of people of Davao City, apart from the Christians.

But I also wore it in solidarity with the lumads of Mindanao and the many other Indigenous Peoples groups all over the country who have been uprising against the terrorist New People’s Army’s chronic exploitation of their children, arming them as new recruits — nevermind if they are still minors and unable to understand the madness of the terrorism espoused by the NPAs.

Posted in VP Sara - Statements on Jul 25, 2022

Congratulations to Leyte First District Representative Martin Romualdez for being voted Speaker of the House.

Speaker Romualdez is a lawmaker tested by time. His experience representing the people of Leyte over the years gives me the confidence he will aggressively pursue a people-centered Congress.

I am also hoping Speaker Romualdez will be able to consolidate support for the development agenda of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. from the rest of the country’s elected representatives — rightfully because the Marcos administration is resolute in improving the lives of the people, particularly t...

Posted in VP Sara - Statements on Jul 25, 2022

The first State of the Nation Address of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr offers the Filipinos a glimpse of what we should expect from the government, what we should prepare for, and what we should do to help the administration not only achieve its development agenda but also support its initiatives for the Philippines to become strong and a stable country in Asia, able to respond to the needs of the Filipinos even in the face of anxieties brought by disputes and disagreements happening between some countries that could hurt our economy.

The Office of the Vice President will be working alongside ...
